Elfie showed up on Thanksgiving morning with a box full of Christmas goodies...new books, new movie and new jammies. Taylor was VERY curious as to how Elfie was able to carry the box with him while flying from the North Pole.

Fall First's Week

We've had lots of first's in the last week! Tennis clinic, soccer practice and best of all...school!!!

He loves tennis clinic and is doing great!

We're playing on the Tigers! Still not sure he understands the concept of this one...

Sister was DETERMINED to join everyone's soccer practice.

First Day of School! He's in Pre-K 3 at Poise 'N Ivy and in Ms. Dena's class. He was super excited to get to school and meet some buddies. He's going Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-11:30.

Also, Mommy's first day of crazy carpool lines (what BB always referred to as 'the idiot circle'). Taylor is holding our carpool tag for the dash.

And definitely a first, we had two baby raccoons seeking refuge from...Sassy, I guess...on one of the window sills outside the living room. They played in front of the window all day...it was like having a zoo exhibit in our living room. The wildlife adventures never cease here on the bayou...

Pacific Northwest Trip

Wow...what an awesome and action-packed trip! We started out in Portland for several days. Then flew to San Francisco for Paul and Kelly's wedding in Lafayette. Drove up to Mill Valley for lunch with family. Then on to the wine country for about 36 hrs of family time, just us 4. An awesome trip and lots of great memories for all!

We had Brooke, Aspen, Presley and Peyton all last week and it was awesome! The big kids went to art camp 1/2 the day and we stayed busy swimming, fishing, playgrounds, gymnastics class...the kids were all great and Brooke and I even got to go out one night.

VBS High Seas Expedition!

Taylor went to vacation bible school this week. It was a High Seas Expedition! He had a great time and came home knowing the sweetest things about God's love.

Last night was the little end of week program where each group got to stand up and sing a song that they'd learned. Taylor faced the back the entire time and watched the video screen with the words...then he made a swift exit mid-song to let me know he needed to go potty!!!! Hilarious!

Taylor the Ringbearer

Taylor is going to be a ringbearer this August and again in September. He is so excited and he got his first ringbearer suit in the mail this evening. Here he is modeling. It came with a pink tie, but Kristen got them a red tie to coordinate with her colors. Taylor wants Dad to wear the pink tie and be a ringbearer with him. He practiced with his tooth fairy pillow and is super excited!

This is a little video (3 minutes) I made of Taylor's team. Super cute. He loved playing t-ball this spring. He played two games a week all through April and May and is already asking when he can go to more t-ball games.

Kev and I got to float the river 2 days before it flooded! We had a great time with the Lowden's!

We took a little SWLA adventure on Mother's Day. We did the Creole Nature Trail, saw lots of BIG alligators and went ot the beach in Cameron. We have effectively set Taylor's beach expectations extremely low.

We went to visit our old BR neighbors, the Hazlip's, at thier new house in New Roads, LA. Taylor and Mac had an interesting evening...while longing for the LiteBright, Taylor climbed a chair, fell and knocked out his other front tooth. So we now have ZERO front teeth.

Taylor went to baseball camp at Barbe HS here in Lake Charles. I was super proud of him just for hanging in there. It was 4 days, all morning and it was super hot. He worked very hard and had lots of fun!

We had lots of visitors in May. Big Tom came in mid-May for a couple of t-ball games.

Kevin's mom came for a surprise visit and Ron Myers, Kevin's junior college baseball coach at Santa Rosa, and his son DJ came for a week of golf at Gray. Taylor loved having Dad's coach here...very cool that Dad had a coach too.

We baptized Tyler Ann on January 16, 2010 at Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway (where Kevin and I were married and where Taylor was also baptized). Her gown was also worn by her brother and was made from the skirt of my wedding dress. It was a very special evening and we had a great weekend with family and friends. Our close friends Christine and Adam Berry are her Godparents and we're excited to spend lots of fun family moments with them (their youngest son Connor is Kevin and I's Godson).

We had our friends the Hazlip's and the Stubbs' over this evening and we were all trying to shoot pics of our kids in front of the tree for Christmas cards. It was quite the fiasco. We squeezed out a couple of keepers but there are tons of out takes! Check out a few of my favorite....

This is the very first picture snapped of my kids. I said "Say cheese!". Not "Show me your tonsils!".

Jack Henry insisted on the football helmet and Mac and Taylor were far more excited and cooperative to be taking a picture with each other than their sisters.

Taylor thought it was hilarious to let Tyler Ann fall over when he was supposed to be holding her up. Nice.

We would snap a bunch of each duo, then give them a break. In the last round with my kids, we got lots of cute ones. Now looking at them on my computer, I realize he has pizza all over his face.

Taylor had a great birthday. Grandma and Al were in town and his party was Monday afternoon at the Spider Bungee Jumper in the mall. The kids loved it and Taylor had a blast. He'll miss all his sweet friends in Baton Rouge.

We made a quick tour through Texas last week. We stopped in Houston for a night to see the Peters and the Berrys. Then headed to Austin to hang with BB and Paw Paw and friends. We had fun with the Lowden girls and mommy even got to go out with her friends one night!

We're back at school and baby sister is one month old! She went for her check up today and she weighs 10 lbs 12 oz. Taylor is such a great big brother and always wanting to check on her and help out. He is in a 3 year old class at Jefferson Baptist MDO and loves his new teachers and classroom since it's upstairs with the big kids. We have a busy fall ahead and are looking forward to it!

Tuesday morning, some monkey jumping on the bed got a little too rowdy. Taylor ended up knocking out one of his front teeth, leaving it stuck in the sheet rock. After a little bit of panic, we realized he would be okay and loaded him up for the dentist. Our dentist was able to confirm for us that he would be just fine...just a tooth short. He was very brave through the whole process though and we were very proud of him for being so tough. His new nickname...THE TOOTHLESS WONDER!

I know this video is sideways but it's worth the 22 second head tilt. Taylor played his first complete golf hole last night at the course. He played #12 at Baton Rouge Country Club and it took him about a dozen hits, including a great shot out of the bunker. At the end, it took him two tap-in's to get the ball in the hole and for some reason at the end, he just toppled over. It was hilarious! He covered it up really well at the end telling Kevin "I was rolling like a ball."

We went to the Easter Egg Hunt at our church today. It was the last of a very eventful morning so I'm surprised he made it. He had lots of fun though. Fire Station

We're lucky to have a fire station right in our neighborhood and hear the sirens all the time. We attempted to go to the fire station last week to meet real firemen and look at the trucks, but once we got there, he was too scared to even go into the garage where the trucks were. So yesterday, he heard the sirens and said to me "Mom, go see fire truck. Be real brave." So we loaded up the wagon and walked over there, picking up our buddy Mac along the way. He'd over come his fear I guess, and they had a blast climbing all over the fire truck and playing with the firemen. They were all SOOO nice and took time to show the kids all around the trucks.

New Baby Tracey on the Way!

I'm 14 1/2 weeks pregnant and we're very excited about the newest Tracey that will be arriving late summer (due August 13). Taylor was with me for one of my ultrasounds and thought that it was Baby Beluga (a series of children's books about a beluga whale) on the screen so that's what he calls it. When I ask him where Baby Beluga is he says "on the TV at Paw Paw's office" (the ultrasound screen). When I told him yesterday that when we picked Baby Beluga up at the hospital we had to give it a new name and asked him what he would like it's name to be, he said he wanted it to be a sister and he wanted to name it Lightning McQueen.

Mom and Dad have some different ideas for names but are very excited either way. We'll find out the sex in late March and will for sure let everyone know. We've got lots of goals for Taylor though before the baby gets here (1. get into a big boy bed b/c we need the crib, 2. learn to swim, 3. potty train) so we'll be very busy during the first part of the summer.

Bug Catching

Grandma got us a couple of fish (which are now happily enjoying life at the LSU lakes). She also got him some fish nets scoop them up with. So they have conveniently become bug catchers. On this particular evening, the moths were so severe, we also needed to wear our Elmo elbow pads. It's a jungle out there...in the backyard.

We had a great time on our neighborhood hayride on Halloween. Taylor got to meet "the REAL Spider Man" (a friend of Kev's who dressed as Spider Man for a party). He's talked about it everyday since. Taylor was a doctor, Mac was a cowboy and Ava James was a sassy kitty cat. Grandma and Al were here and got to participate in all the fun. Thanks to Mac's Daddy, we had an awesome hayride!

I went to the New Kids on the Block concert with all my childhood friends on Friday night. It was AWESOME! The music and drinks were so good, I seriously thought I was in the 4th grade again. We took a nasty, ghetto, straight-up HS, prom abused limo from Kyle to San Antonio for the concert. These guys can still kick it like no other washed-up, 40 year-old, boy-banders can! Oh and the concert was literally 100% chicks between the ages of 27-32. It was all awesome!

Taylor's First Day of MDO

Taylor started a mother's day out program at a church near our house. He was apprehensive at first, not to mention life has been pretty hectic the last couple of months. He's liking it now though. He brings home a painted picture everyday and loves getting his backpack in the morning. I pick him up in his red wagon and we walk home and talk about his day.

Gustav Evacuation

Here our some pics from our Hurricane Gustav Evacuation adventures! We left BR on Sunday, August 31 and got back on Sunday, September 14. We were in Austin for the first week. We had lots of fun with BB and Paw Paw and all of our Austin friends. We ate TONS of tex-mex and loved every bite!

Taylor and I got bored one day and decided to drop in on a Little Gym class. Jack Ingram was in our class with his son and we got to meet him and take our pic with him. It was awesome!

The hurricane hit BR on Monday September 1. It was the strongest hurricane winds in BR metro history. Our house was spared with only fence damage.

We thought our power would be out through mid-September so we decided to head to Lubbock for a week. We got to hang with the Robersons' and enjoy being in Red Raider land. It was great and Taylor got to go to his first Tech football game. He LOVES Raider Red.

Trip to Minnesota!

We had a great time on our trip to MN to visit the Loeffler's. We got to go the Mall of America and a Vikings game...actually just half of a Vikings game! We miss Jardin and Landyn and look forward to seeing them in Austin.

I'm in the process of setting up this blog and ditching our url (www.kevinandsunny.com). But in the mean time I thought I would post our latest excellent adventure(s).

We've been out of town more than 50% of the last two months! My kid has more frequent flyer miles than any two year old ever!

July 25-29: Sunny and Taylor go to Austin for thier quarterly visit.

July 30-August 9: All three of us headed to Napa for a little vaca/family get-together, then to Portland for our annual visit with Kev's family and friends.

August 15-18: Dallas for the christening of the lastest Berry Baby. Our first God Baby and he's precious!

August 29: Evaucated for Gustav to Austin...

September 8: Still evacuated, so we headed to Lubbock for golf, good friends and a football game! We'll be here until Sunday hanging with the Roberson's. This is Taylor's first trip to LBK!

Seriously...I hope my poor kid remembers our house!

Luckily, our house was spared by Gustav, but most of our neighbors were not as lucky. Lots of downed trees and extensive roof damage. We were very glad we left last minute as opposed to sticking it out.

Oh, and we're celebrating our 5th anniversary on Saturday!
